Took back the cable boxes to Comcast today, would've cost us an arm and a leg to suspend service. Glad to be rid of that albatross. No TV, missed the hockey game, but no biggie. We finished the last bit of packing, then realized we forgot to fill out our Health Pass forms to get into Costa Rica. Technology is great when it works--thanks Fran--and with minimum angst we finished those forms; still in love.
With little to no food remaining in the house prior to a 2 month departure, we couldn't think of a gotta have order to place. So, we toasted some frozen bread and made sandwiches out of whatever we could find. Normal bedtime didn't bring on the urge to sleep just yet, as we had waves of our new reality hit and continue to sink in throughout the night as our preparations moved to their final stages. When we "ran out of things to do", naturally we turned to the TV to relax a little, then turn to each other as we realized there was no cable! Dang! Oh well...wait a minute...the DVR! Saved! We popped in an ole favorite, Star Trek, Chris Pine as Kirk, excellent and funny. That got us relaxed enough to actually get a good night's sleep. El doce de junio Departure Day! First day without an alarm clock, and I got up before that sucker rang! That might be the first morning Mrs. Seibel didn't "have to snooze" the alarm because somebody wasn't ready to get up yet, in a long time. I was pleasantly surprised that leaving the house for 2 months wasn't as stressful as I had imagined. A good plan and good preparations go a long way. Our Uber came and we loaded 1 suitcase to check, 2 backpacks and 2 roller bags and set out for O'hare. We got to the airport nice and early, so check in was a breeze with limited travelers present at our arrival. We shared a mushroom pizza and a Caesar's chicken salad for lunch, and watched people. If this could be a paid occupation, Sharon would be a high flyer.
