At breakfast today we asked that question of each other. We weren't too sure, but knew that something would come to us. While we were enjoying the view and breakfast from the pool patio, our host Alberto came by and inquired about our plans for the day. Without established plans yet, he told us about some waterfalls that he had seen and we quickly asked some questions about where they were and how one might get there. He gave us great directions, including signs or businesses where turns were and we were sold.
15 minutes later we were in the car off on our next adventure. We had about an hour to travel to our destination, Catarata la Léona and Don Rafa's Adventure Tours. GG and Alberto were spot on with directions. It is becoming apparent that anything worth seeing requires driving on a road that you would probably avoid if you could. But, "if yer scared, and you say yer scared", you'd miss out. Right, Bobby?

We arrived with minimal concern as we are getting normalized to one lane curvy steep roads. We met our guide, Cesar, who was the perfect person for us! Such a great guy. After Sharon and I donned our life jackets we headed off into the jungle, no really.

At the start, the trail was flat and wide enough for two, but that quickly changed.

We crossed the River Blanco two times as we headed deeper into the jungle. The water was crystal clear.

When we came to the high canyon walls that the river ran through, Sharon said, "This is like Starved Rock-on steroids!" Jen, you would've loved this! I am finding it hard to put words to describing the natural beauty of where we went, jaw dropping. The trail became a foot path with rocks, obstacles to climb over and under, and it kept getting more beautiful with each step. This trail was not for the faint of heart! Almost wondered if I overestimated my worthiness - damn, this should come with a warning or a waiver!
I'm going to have to let our pictures speak for me.

The first waterfall was called La Ducha, (the shower). The big waterfall is La Léona where we swam through the arch into a cavern to see. Indescribable!
